Faith Community Health: Know Your Numbers! A physically healthy body supports the efforts of a spiritually healthy soul. That’s part of God’s plan for you. How do you know how healthy you are? One way is to compare your current health status with standard measures of good health. These standard measures are sometimes called critical indicators. Here they are:
The Good News Translation of Proverbs 20:30 provides an interesting variation of the more common concept that ‘beatings can purge one’s evil’ used by other translations. GNT’s Proverbs 20:30 says, “Sometimes it takes a painful experience to make us change our ways.” If your actual readings are outside the desired range, God is sending you a message that it’s time to change your ways – your lifestyle. If your actual readings are close to the desired range, this should validate that you’re living God’s plan for you. Know Your Numbers! Our church’s monthly health screenings begin in May, on Sunday mornings, 9-9:45am in the Family Life Building. Cost: glucose – $2.50, lipids – $15, all other screenings – free. Know your starting point so that you can set a goal for better health.
